INTRODUCTION

The complexities of managing staff travel safety, related to an employer’s duty of care have become exceptionally difficult. The requirement to manage the foreseeable risks associated with travel in a reasonably practicable manner are a crucial compliance issue. In order to provide your organisation with an easy compliance option for any staff that must travel for work purposes, we are proud to offer a convenient and effective solution via our TRAVEL SAFETY AND SECURITY AWARENESS TRAINING (T.S.S.A.T).

The aim of this course is to introduce the participant to the realities and risks they may face which may include issues such as terrorism, violence and crime. We focus on providing the mental tools and understanding required to proactively identify, prevent or avoid and manage these situations should they occur. A heightened awareness of personal security will assists in reducing the risk of participants being exposed to violent encounters and crime in all aspects of their lives. The knowledge and skills learned through these educational sessions provide essential ingredients to lead healthier and safer lives thereby ensuring higher levels of productivity in the workplace. Dynamic Alternatives (DA), a member of the Risk 2 Solution (R2S) Group, has trained over 35000 people in at least one of our security related courses and is the preferred provider to several Australian federal government agencies for this training. We are proud to offer this training in Perth via our subsidiary company – Safety and Rescue Australia (SRA).

COURSE OBJECTIVES

After completing this course participants will have a workable understanding of safety and security and how to integrate these concepts into the way they plan for travel, how they conduct themselves during travel and understand the basic requirements for managing a situation should it occur.
On completion - All participants will be issued with a Travel Safety Certificate (valid for 1 year). This document should be kept on record in various HR and WHS databases and used to demonstrate organizational adherence to their duty of care responsibilities.

FIRST AID (OPTIONAL)

It is strongly recommended that the Nationally accredited - HLTAID003 Provide first aid course as an add on
to the T.S.S.A.T training. This covers the following key competencies:

  • Respond to an emergency situation
  • Apply appropriate first aid procedures
  • Communicate details of the incident
  • Evaluate the incident and own performance
