Successful participants will be able to supervise employees undertaking work in a confined space. They will have the knowledge and skills to identify hazards, assess risks, implement risk treatments, complete the required records, and receive and authorise confined space entry permits.

Persons required to follow BHP Billiton Iron Ore Specific Procedures; who need to issue appropriate ‘Permits to Work’ to people who will work in environments in which hazards exist or specific procedures need to be followed and monitored to protect the safety of personnel and the integrity of plant or process.
Current competency in BHPBIO Confined Space Entrant / Standby, BHPBIO Permit Holder, and sufficient language and literacy skills to follow work procedures on a mine or construction site
