COURSE OUTCOMES

Successful participants will be able to supervise employees undertaking work in a confined space. They will have the knowledge and skills to identify hazards, assess risks, implement risk treatments, complete the required records, and receive and authorise confined space entry permits.

Specific topics include:

  • Legislative requirements for confined space working, and risk management particularly AS4360
  • Implementation of confined space entry and exit procedures
  • Identification of need for work permits
  • Confirmation of work site preparation for authorised work
  • Raising and issuing of work permits
  • Acceptance and monitoring of end of day reports
  • Procedures to close work permit with Permit Holder

ON-SITE DELIVERY REQUIREMENTS

Participants must wear site approved work wear and PPE. For delivery at a client site
the following must be provided to meet the outcomes of the course:

Target Audience
Persons required to follow BHP Billiton Iron Ore Specific Procedures; who need to issue appropriate ‘Permits to Work’ to people who will work in environments in which hazards exist or specific procedures need to be followed and monitored to protect the safety of personnel and the integrity of plant or process.
